Mrs. Amy Kuske

Teacher, Grades 3-4

A love for her Lord and children led Amy Kuske to pursue a career in elementary education.  She grew up on a dairy farm in the tiny western Wisconsin farming community of Woodville.  After graduating from MLC she taught at St. John’s Burlington and St. John’s Mukwonago before arriving at Pilgrim.

Amy has completed numerous graduate courses in reading, math and technology and has obtained her Wisconsin DPI license for K-8.

Engaging students in the learning process is important to Mrs. Kuske.  She writes curriculum lessons that place an emphasis on student involvement and creativity.  She believes learning needs to be fun and meaningful!

She has been blessed with a husband and three children.  She’s also an avid sports fan—so when she’s not teaching she’s busy cheering on the Badgers, Brewers, and Packers.

Mrs. Jodi Murphy

Teacher, Grades 1-2

Jodi Murphy graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In 2007 she completed the teacher certification program in Middle Childhood/Early Adolescence and English and is currently licensed in Wisconsin.

Prior to accepting the call to Pilgrim, she most recently served as a classroom teacher at Trinity in Brillion, and as a math specialist in the Brillion Public Schools. She is currently pursuing professional development opportunities in the areas of instructional technology and special education.

Jodi and her husband Mark reside in Jackson and have one son, Joshua. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, participating in a wide variety of outdoor activities, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Kathy Brandt

Kindergarten Teacher, Athletic Director

Kathy Brandt graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a concentration in science. She is married to Jim and together they have been blessed with three sons. During her years of teaching she had the privilege of teaching students of all ages in Lutheran schools throughout California, Illinois, and Wisconsin. After completing her Mentor Certification through Cardinal Stritch University, Kathy has gone on to mentor several beginning teachers.

Kathy helped students develop a broad range of skills outside the classroom by coaching forensics and various sports, directing school plays, advising student council, and chairing the art show at the Menomonee Falls Library. She has since moved on to becoming the Athletic Director here at Pilgrim Lutheran. Keeping students active in the learning process is important to Kathy, but nothing gives her more joy than to see her students learn about Jesus and grow in their faith.

When Kathy isn’t teaching, you can find her traveling to visit her sons in Indiana, Utah, and Japan. She also enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking.

Mrs. Jenny Raasch

Lead K3 Teacher, Teacher Grades 5-6

Mrs. Jenny Raasch grew up in Inver Grove Heights, MN, and graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.

In addition to experience in teaching toddlers and preschoolers, she has also taught either part-time or full-time in every level of elementary school. Her various extra duties have included forensics and basketball coaching.

Jenny’s goal for her students is that they view school as a positive place to be–a place where our Savior’s love is reflected in the way students and teachers interact with each other. One of her favorite passages as she thinks of her students and her own children is Isaiah 40:11 “He (Jesus) tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

Jenny and her husband, Joel, have a son and a daughter in college. Jenny enjoys activities like reading, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.
